Our Home in Pua
The Bungalow
We live in an adorable two bedroom, one bathroom bungalow less than 1km from school. Our house is on property owned by the head of the English Department at Pua High School. Marissa and I live on the top floor and our neighbor Litong lives below us. I love our house, but our living room is more like a porch, so there are always lots of bugs and lizards around. Even our bedrooms have many cracks in the walls, so we have lots of critters living with us. I can't lie, it was an adjustment living in this indoor/outdoor house. But we have a western toilet and shower, so there isn't much to complain about.

Rent
Our house is 5,000 baht per month. Water is 200 baht per month and electricity varies. Our first month we used our air conditioners every night and our bill was 1,800 baht. The next month was cooler and we were more careful to turn off our lights, our electricity bill was 500 baht. In addition, our agency gives us each 1,000 baht to go towards our rent. In general, we end up paying about 1,800 baht each per month. To put this in perspective, that's only about $50!!
